“O, with what freshness,
what solemnity and beauty,
is each new day born;
as if to say to insensate man,
'Behold!
thou hast one more chance!
Strive for immortal glory!”

My Yearly Ode to Halloween
Hello Fallen Friends,

     It's that time of the year again when, the ghosts and ghoulies and vampires (can't forget those guys and gals, right?) rise from the grave. This Halloween, I'm more excited than ever to be preparing to celebrate.

      With the completion of my seven-year obsession, aka my debut novel When Copper Suns Fall, comes a surreal satisfaction. To accomplish one's goals is a task we all struggle with. I mean, let's face it, challenges, family matters, and just plain old everyday annoyances can deter our plans. The trick, as always, is to keep the faith. Stay in touch with friends and family. Get out in the community and volunteer to help someone in need. And eat as much candy as the rest of the kids on Halloween night!

     This year, I'll play the part of the skeleton bride again. My kids will be zombies, my baby nephew will be a mad doctor. We'll all have fun being one big gang of menaces. At the end of the day, being successful is about letting go of life's expectations, and embracing the things that matter the most. And if you decide to dress up as one of the walking dead, then don't let anyone talk you into feeling silly about it. Until next time.

The Cover is Unveiled...
At last! The cover for my debut novel When Copper Suns Fall is here. I hope you like it. The story behind its creation is almost as intriguing as the cover itself. All I can say is many many years of blood, sweat, and most definitely tears have finally paid off. When Copper Suns Fall is not only a story of hope, but it is also a tribute to a woman who inspired me to dream. Someone who told me to go and ask the flowers, but have a pen ready when they answer you. A woman whose memory will live on in my heart, and in my story forever. Tonight's reveal is for my boys, readers, betas, writing mentors, school teachers, professors...but most of all it's for my grandmother, Nezzetta Tomlinson Wall.

Yours in Prose,
KaSonndra
